Troika MHD

Posted by nelsdrums on June 2nd, 2008

I was looking all over for this image this morning. It was an initial design study that Troika in Hollywood did for MHD, MTV’s HD channel. It now graces my sliding cube doors. See the animated results here.

Blatte’s backgrounds at exoteric.roach.org is an excellent source of abstract fractal desktop images made with Apophysys, Ultra Fractal and KPT FraxFlame. He even has tutorials, settings, and images rendered for dual monitors. Blatte gives his images freely for non-commercial use. I used one of Blatte’s backgrounds for the header of this blog.

Flight 404′s Robert Hodgin (Barbarian Group coder of the 2007 Lexus ES launch site) has been doing fantastic audio-visual renderings with processing. He has also authored a stunning iTunes visualizer called Magnetosphere that does for your music what is seen in the above video.

Tired of doing the same old thing? Are you looking for some color inspiration? Check out Adobe Labs new Kuler website where you can create, download or upload color “themes” and search using tags. There is also a cool Air Widget Application that you can install without T1IT’s permission! Woohoo.

One site I constantly refer to for visual inspiration is Psyop.tv. Psyop NYC has done some of my favorite visual effects on television commercials – like the Coca-Cola what’s inside the vending machine spot and the MTV HD interstitial. Enter their site and click on NEW or PLATINUM SELECT to hilight recent or favourite works. The Psyops site also features “email to a friend” and “direct link” for all of their videos.
